The Post War Era: Innovations in American Art

The end of World War II ushered in a period of exceptional creativity in art and a powerful shift into abstraction. This special exhibition will highlight several of the artists who led the way, with unique works and original prints by Willem de Kooning, Jasper Johns, Frank Stella, Sam Francis, Robert Motherwell, and Helen Frankenthaler. The gallery will also be featuring fine examples of the transition into Pop art, including Liechtenstein, Katz, and Dine.

Gabrielle Selz, noted Sam Francis author, will present a lecture at 7 PM at the opening reception September 29th.
