Event Details

Spontaneous, dynamic and straight forward are attributes that are often used to describe «Art on Paper». That is why my fascination for this medium of art is still there and the exhibition documented in this catalogue not the first one of a kind in my activities spanning so many years. My gallery program begins with German Expressionism and continues into the present time.   A factor, not to be underestimated by any serious art dealer, is the awareness of imperfections in this medium of art that may have occurred during the decades when it was admired and enjoyed whilst hanging on living room walls. Such imperfections may have been caused by light, moisture, extreme dryness or air pollution. Special glass which absorbs almost one-hundred percent of light has only been on the market for some time now. Well preserved art on paper is rare. Finding the one who has survived the decades without damage becomes an ever increasing challenge.   Most desirable art on paper is the one which has been kept in drawers, dry and dark storage rooms, and correctly framed. All in all an almost impossible challenge. Pricing and price-comparisons using electronic databases, Internet auctions or auction catalogues, without expert assessment of the originals, are of little use and in most cases, not meaningful at all. Apart from rare exceptions, this is especially true for graphic editions. After a period of time no example of the edition is comparable to another.   All presented «Art on Paper» published in this catalogue is in impeccable condition, each one is framed up to the newest technical knowledge. Indeed, many of it has been «tucked away» for decades. All artworks are offered with an unlimited guarantee of authenticity.   I am looking forward to your visit or contacting the gallery.
